Three steeply stepped, sun-baked terraces on the southern bank of the Awatere River inspired the name of a farm - Triplebank. Pale lemon-gold, the nose opens with ripe pear and apple aromas, and a spicy background. The palate is opulent with great concentration of orchard fruit, nutmeg and cinnamon notes on a broad, textural palate. The complex flavours carry through to a rounded and lengthy finish. Try matching this wine with rich dishes such as risotto bianco with parmesan, or pasta carbonara, alongside a rocket, pear and walnut salad.

Triplebank Rose is a subtle tea-rose pink, and shows aromas of red fruits and creamy almond notes reminiscent of fresh strawberry shortcake. The palate is dry and full, with raspberry and pomegranate sorbet flavours and fresh, characteristic, Awatere acidity. The intense fruit flavours persist on the finish. Try this as a delicious brunch wine alongside smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or hotcakes with summer berries. Platters including cured meats such as parma ham and soft cheese will be fabulous too.

This pale gold Triplebank Sauvignon Blanc meets the nose with a bouquet of punchy aromatics, from freshly cut capsicum, tomato leaf, citrus, and hints of jalapeño transfer onto a powerful palate. The satisfying palate has notes of herbs and nettle underpinned with grapefruit all bound with in a striking minerality. This wine is complex and layered, inviting you to linger and discover. Seafood of all kinds will be a great match, especially freshly steamed muscles in a garlic and white wine sauce topped with a wedge of lemon and fresh parsley served alongside warm baguette.
