Folding Hill is a boutique, family-owned winery dedicated to producing premium wines exclusively from its 11-acre certified organic vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago. Their Ballasalla Pinot Noir takes its name from a village on the Isle of Man - hometown of winemaker Tim Kerruish. Meaning 'Place of the Willows,' Ballasalla is fittingly named, as these trees flourish both in Central Otago and on the Isle of Man. "Straw, floral perfume, with a touch of reduction. The palate is elegant and deft, both in structure and fruit presence. Red and dark-fruit notes are underpinned by a fine minerally seam and there is an attractive, detailed web of tannin. Juicy and fruit driven, powerful yet elegant and with hints of black pepper spice through the mid-palate lead to a rich, velvety tannin finish.
